Exams

Wellness Exams
Vaccinations are no longer the cornerstone of veterinary preventative medicine.  Your pet’s yearly physical exam is key to maintaining your pet’s health.  Early diagnosis is the best way to prevent small problems from becoming large problems, which may lead to a crisis situation.

Lameness Exams
Anytime a horse is unable to place weight equally on all four hooves, it is essential that the doctor is immediately called to diagnose the problem.  If left untreated for even a few days, the prognosis for full recovery may not be good.  Additional symptoms may include pain response to local pressure on the foot, heat, swelling and pain in the limb.

Pre-purchase Exams
We offer pre-purchase exams for our existing clients, which may include radiographs at the buyer’s discretion or doctor’s advice.

Vaccinations
Vaccines
Research has been performed in dogs and cats over the past few years, measuring the length of immunity to each of the individual vaccines. It has been concluded that protective immunity often lasts longer than duration of 1 year   as previously thought. Unfortunately, research has not been conducted for other species at this time. We, at Adobe, are constantly researching the latest vaccine data to ensure that your pet will not be vaccinated more   than is deemed  absolutely necessary.

Equine Vaccines
Pets should be vaccinated to protect them from many highly contagious and deadly diseases. Experts agree that widespread use of vaccines within the last century has prevented death and disease in millions of animals. Even though some formerly common diseases have now become uncommon, vaccination is still highly recommended because these serious disease agents continue to be present in the environment.

Dental Care

Good dental care is one of the most important factors to providing your pet with a long and healthy life. We recommend yearly dental exams.

Soft Tissue Surgery
We do soft tissue surgeries, including castration, surgery of the eyes and ears, wound management and reconstruction.

Diagnostic Care
Digital Radiography
Radiographs are an essential part of many diagnoses. We provide you with state of the art digital radiography, which enables us more rapid and accurate diagnosis, as well as rapid specialist consultation.

Digital Ultrasound/Echocardiograph
Ultrasound has become an integral part of any diagnostic protocol enabling us to see into the body in a very non-invasive way. We provide ultrasound of the abdomen, heart (echocardiography), pregnancy, and soft tissue, such as tendon injuries. We are also able to obtain ultrasound guided biopsies, which can aid in the diagnosis of disease or cancer in the abdominal or thoracic cavity in a much less invasive way than a traditional exploratory surgery.

Endoscopy
Endoscopy allows direct visualization inside the body via a lens mounted on a flexible or rigid scope. We can use the endoscope to collect tissue samples for biopsy or culture, as well as to remove foreign material from the stomach, esophagus, or nose.

Diagnostic and Laboratory Services
We offer a full in-house laboratory to perform rapid diagnostics for blood chemistries, CBC, urinalysis, and many others.

Reproductive Care
All expectant mothers need a pre-delivery appointment one month before their due-date.  At this visit, we will perform a comprehensive physical exam, explain what you should expect: diet changes, when you need to call for help, signs of impending delivery, delivery detection devices, normal and abnormal situations, and any other concerns.  Most babies are born with no immunity to fight off disease and infection.  They require their mother's milk to ensure high-quality antibodies.  To provide this protection, the mother must have certain vaccines boostered 4-6 weeks pre-delivery.  At this important visit, we will also give you your free delivery kit and explain what else you will need for the anticipated delivery.  Some animals, like sheep and goats, can have planned inductions to increase the chance of you being present for the delivery. We offer prenatal care and pregnancy ultrasounds throughout gestation.
